EMED Mining looks forward to next phase of starting production

EMED Mining (LON:EMED, TSE:EMD) is looking forward to the company's next phase of beginning production, its chairman Ronnie Bevor told an AGM today.
The firm said that it is focused on restarting the Rio Tinto mine copper mine in Spain as soon as possible, onceregulatory approvals are met, he told shareholders.
A construction managment team have been mobilised to the mine and it has begun detailed engineering for the modernisation programmes, he said.
There is a large database of potential workers at the mine, he added.
In Slovakia, the company is continuing to make progress in plans to develop the 100 per cent owned Detva gold project.
The firm said it maintained close consultation with the newly formed government in Slovakia and local communities with a view to gaining a Mining Lease Area, which is required before bulk sampling can begin.
EMED said it had voluntarily agreed to prepare two reports on the Detva project - a preliminary social impact study and a preliminary techno- economic study, said Beevor.
Meanwhile, in Cyprus, the firm is continuing to assess its large geological database of historical copper mining properties, resulting in the identification f a number of large targets.
