Proactiveinvestors Forum 14th March: West African Minerals and Mandalay Resources

Brad Mills is the guiding hand behind West African Minerals (AIM:WAFM) and Mandalay Resources (TSX:MND) and will be presenting at the Chesterfield Hotel, Mayfair, on Thursday, March 14th.
A true heavyweight of the sector, he was former head of platinum miner Lonmin during its tenure in the FTSE 100 and was a director of the super-major BHP Billiton.
He and managing director Anton Mauve have enjoyed huge success at West African Minerals Corporation(AIM:WAFM), whose shares have jumped five-fold since it took control last year of six highly prospective iron ore prospects in Cameroon.
Positive results from an early survey of the properties whetted investors' appetites, while this month West African Minerals revealed an airborne survey of the Cameroon licences had "significantly enhanced" its ability to identify high-grade iron ore targets. A 5,000-metre drilling programme is now planned.
The team at WAFM is truly blue-chip with Mills as executive vice chairman, the mining Midas Stephen Dattels as chief executive and the investor Jim Mellon as a non-exec.
At Mandalay Resources (TSX:MND) Mills is chief executive of a real rarity - a junior miner generating healthy cashflow and returning it to shareholders as a quarterly dividend.
Last year saw impressive volumes of gold, silver and antimony from its two mines and generating record revenues and profits.
The next stage of growth will see the Cerro Bayo mine in Chile become a 1,400 tonne-a-day operation by next year, while Costerfield in Australia will see the development of the Cuffley Lode beginning in mid-2013.
Brokers repeatedly cite Mandalay as a top pick among the precious metals producers.
