Windward Resources discovers new nickel trends in Fraser Range, Western Australia

Windward Resources (ASX:WIN) has emerged from a trading halt to reveal its partially
completed aircore drilling program has defined 1 kilometre and 500 metre
nickel trends in Western Australia's Fraser Range.
A total of
3,900 metres of a 15,000 metre aircore drilling program has been
completed and assayed, returning numerous broad assays greater than 0.2%
nickel and up to 1.1%.
The best result to date is an intersect of 23 metres at 0.21% nickel, with 1 metre at 1.1% and 4 metres at 0.53%.
Anomalous silver, cobalt and copper were also identified.
Drilling
was conducted predominantly over and along strike of the previously
identified Buningonia North aircore bedrock nickel anomaly, with some
directed towards a separate IOCG target.
Buningonia lies 60 kilometres north east of Sirius Resources' (ASX:SIR) Nova and Bollinger deposits, and contains multiple intrusive features and potential strike extension of Classic Minerals' (ASX:CLZ) target.
The
1 kilometre Northern zone is believed to represent supergene
concentrations of elements that reflect the underlying lithology, whilst
the 500 metre southern anomaly hosts both bedrock nickel and copper
with spatially associated silver.
Further work is required to
evaluate the significance of the southern zone and a ground
electromagnetic survey is being planned to identify any conductors which
may be associated with sulphide mineralisation.
Any conductors
identified will be subsequently drill tested, and the remainder of the
larger 15,000 metre program will be undertaken in 4,000 to 5,000 metre
sub-programs.
Notably, of all the Fraser Range explorers, Windward has the largest ground holding by some margin.
